The Last Samurai - Final words:

——————————————————————————–

This is a bad film, a total misrepresentation, or a distortion of history; it
is a superficial and unauthentic representation of the Japanese culture, and
suffice it to say that It has done great violence to the things it wants to
portray and represent. it has fulfilled all the clichéd promises, badly; it
stick to a backward-looking, nostalgic cultural conservatism; it is a major
manifestation of cultural globalisation and “glocalisation”, in which
heterogeneous culture is processed, manipulated and presented by the American
culture. It is thus a bizarre sort of culture hybridisation. But anyway, we
have previous examples as dated as Madame Butterfly.

The film is very violent in nature; some scenes are quite disturbing. I got a
big headache after watching it.

All in all, this is the most ludicrous film I have seen for quite a long
period. Absolutely horrendous.
